- Volume: 25,466.70 million transactions in October, against 24,068.38 million in September.
- Value: ₹31,52,929.46 crore in October (about ₹31.53 lakh crore), against ₹29,37,396.67 crore in September.
- Banks live on UPI: 758 in October, up from 756 in September.
- Daily average: about 821.5 million transactions and ₹1,01,707 crore a day in October, against about 802.3 million and ₹97,913 crore in September (our calculation from NPCI’s monthly totals over 31 and 30 days).
How October compares with earlier months
- October is the highest month on both volume and value among the seven months NPCI lists for 2026-27 (April to October).
- The previous volume high in that table was August at 24,508.96 million, so October is about 3.9% above it.
- October has 31 days against September’s 30, which flatters the monthly jump. On a per-day basis volume rose about 2.4% and value about 3.9% (our calculation).
- NPCI’s table gives no reasons for the rise and does not break the totals down by app or merchant type.
