AI Doesn’t Belong Only in the Cloud, Says Perplexity CEO

Perplexity AI CEO Aravind Srinivas has shared a thoughtful view on how artificial intelligence should be used in everyday life. According to him, AI is great at finding answers and solving problems, but it is still “humans who decide what is truly important.”

He explained that AI works best as a support system. It can quickly analyse information, suggest solutions, and save time. But it does not understand emotions, values, or real-world priorities the way people do.

Srinivas believes that decisions affecting people, society, and ethics should always stay in human hands. AI can help with the “how,” but humans must decide the “why.”

As AI tools become more powerful and common, he stressed the need for responsible use. Technology should follow human intent, not replace human thinking.

His message is clear that – AI is a powerful assistant, but human judgment remains at the centre of meaningful decisions.
