December wave and what is still unconfirmed

- Exact December dates have not been announced.
- The dates mark when a rollout begins, not when every phone gets it. Android Authority notes that regional differences and staggered releases can mean a longer wait for some owners.
What changes with ColorOS 17
- TelecomTalk reports that ColorOS 17 replaces OxygenOS on OnePlus phones, and that OnePlus will keep sending security patches to OxygenOS for people who prefer to stay.
- Android Authority lists interface refinements, smoother animations, performance work and extra AI features, and says availability may vary by device.
- TelecomTalk names AI Mind Space and AI Mind Suggest among the AI features.
What this means for you
Find your model in the list above, back up your data and keep enough battery and storage free before the update arrives. Because rollouts are staggered, open Settings and check for software updates instead of waiting for a notification.
What to check before you plan around it
- Neither outlet gives India-specific dates. TelecomTalk says OnePlus India confirmed the schedule in a community post, while Android Authority credits OPPO’s ColorOS account on X. We did not open either original post.
- Confirm the OnePlus Open date before planning around it, since the two outlets differ by a day.
