In Kyrgyzstan, Indian Students Are Asked To Stay Indoors Due To Mob Attacks.

“The situation is presently calm but students are advised to stay indoors for the moment and get in touch with the Embassy in case of any issue,” India stated.

New Delhi: In response to attacks on international students, India has advised Kyrgyzstan’s citizens to stay inside. Following numerous Pakistani students’ injuries from mob violence in their dorm, the alert was released.


“We maintain communication with our pupils. Although everything is under control at the moment, students are encouraged to stay indoors for the time being and contact the Embassy if they have any concerns.  our phone is open 24/7,” the Indian Consulate posted on X (previously Twitter).We can be reached at 0555710041,

Also, S Jaishankar, the foreign minister, suggested that students maintain continuous communication with the embassy.

The crowd attacked Bishkek’s medical university dorms, housing students from Bangladesh, Pakistan, and India. The attacks have not caused any injuries to Indian students.


“So far, a few hostels of medical universities in Bishkek and private residences of international students, including Pakistanis, have been attacked,” the Pakistani consulate in Kyrgyzstan noted in a post on X. Students from Bangladesh, Pakistan, and India live in the hostels. There have been reports of a few Pakistani students suffering minor injuries.”


“Despite social media posts about alleged death and rape of Pakistani students, so far, we have not received any confirmed report,” it continued.

Profoundly alarmed by the circumstances facing Pakistani students in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. I have instructed Pakistan’s ambassador to offer any support and assistance that is required. He stated on X, “My office is continuously keeping an eye on the situation and is in contact with the Embassy as well.

Tension over the large number of migrants—many of whom are from South Asia—in Kyrgyzstan seemed to be reflected in the incident.
About 15,000 Indian students are thought to be enrolled in Kyrgyzstan. How many of them are in Bishkek was not immediately known.
